形態特徵

• Perennial with long stoloniferous rhizome. Culms erect, rather thick, 50-85 cm tall, triquetrous.
• Leaves surpassing culm; blades linear, flattish, 7-10 mm wide; sheaths purplish brown.
• Corymbs simple or in part subcompound, 10-15 cm long, sublax, with 3-5 smooth rays; spikes broadly ovoid, 2-3 cm long, bearing 5-15 spikelets; rachis weakly scabrous; leafy bracts few, lowest 1 or 2 surpassing corymb. Spikelets linear, 1-2 cm long, ca. 3 mm wide, flattened, patent, subdensely 20-30-flowered, pale, tinged with reddish brown.
• Glumes broadly ovate, obtuse, ca. 3 mm long, 2- or 3-nerved on each side, membranaceous, pale brown, stained with reddish brown, greenish keel ending in a mucro. Achenes ca. 1/2 as long as glume, elliptic, trigonous, brownish; style nearly its long as achene; stigmas 3. Anthers 3.

分布

• 台灣 : Wet places at low elevations.
• 世界 : Madagascar, India, Indochina, Malesia and northern Australia.
